One in 20 of UK internet users say they have lost money through online scams, a poll for service provider AOL finds.
These people are those on the very far left of the bell curve. Here’s an interesting calculation. How many people in the world have access to email? I don’t know, but lets assume about 1B. 1 in twenty of those represents a figure of 20M. If I could get a dollar from each of these people, I would be rich indeed. I could retire to Nigeria…
It’s a bit of a tax on stupidity, and should be encouraged. Question: Is it possible to be stupid and cynical at the same time? Stupid and Bitter – yes. Stupid and cynical? I’m not so sure.
Migraine patients who received true acupuncture had no decrease in headaches as compared with those who received sham acupuncture treatment, according to a study in the May 4 issue of JAMA.
It surprises me that this has not been identified before. Yet another example of the healing power of the mind. It’s currently fashionable to criticise western medicine in favour of esoteric chinese medicine, so I wonder how long before the report is accused of rationalist, reductionist bias (As though that were a bad thing).
My treatment is based on science – pump yourself full of panadol, then dance naked in the moonlight with tiger-dick paste on your face. Works for me every time.
