I’m thinking of getting myself a new machine. If it was you and you were going to buy a tablet PC… which would it be?
And if it was a plain old laptop (desktop replacement)?
And workstation?
Hmmmm. Let me know, cos I’m stumped!
What are you going to use it for? How much are you willing to spend?
I probably wouldn’t buy a tablet PC myself; but I’d get a laptop with a docking station – that way, I get the mobility, as well as the environment of using a desktop computer…

As for what am I going to use the new machine for? I’m a software developer/designer – I develop using VS.NET 2003/5 and I am currently running a Dell Inspiron 8600 with Pentium M1.7GHz 802.11b etc etc etc. The key thing is that this dell has a screen res of about 1900×1200, and I can read/write 3 files side by side. That is such a killer capability for me – Maybe I should just get another Dell? I wanna plpay with a Tablet PC – I spend way too much time in meetings these days, so maybe it would be more useful?
